[Living Story] Waz dat big Klaw doin do da Boss?

Postby UberHopper » Thu Feb 04, 2010 5:28 pm

Over the last several weeks infamous freebooter boss Blackboota had plundered and scoured the surface of Viscera VII. The boss had destroyed most of the outlying settlements across the planet and was heading straight for the planet's central city. The tactical importance of the planet could not be underestimated by the Imperial forces en route to intercept and destroy the fledgling Ork Waaaaaagh!!! If this world falls so does it's precious supply of fuel. As the Boss's horde grows and the dire threat speeds towards the hive city of Luminaire a glimmer of hope is seen streaking through the sky above the wasteland outside the city's spiral....

"Listen up you lousy buncha no good gits!! We's gonna stomp dees umies flat an make us a big enuff rokkit wagon to get offa this rokk and back inta some real fightin'!! Now move it!!!!"

The Orks were close enough to be visible to the onlookers watching from the hive city. A great black and green carpet moving forward in a great tide. The city was bolstered with guardsmen and conscripted soldiers, but lacked a large military presence. The hive was ripe for the taking and Blackboota knew it. His uncanny ability to see the obvious was one of the things that had made him such a successful freeboota. The only thing that really got under the boss's thick skin was that they're not going to get in a proper fight. These umies are very soft. squishy, and pink. Although the boss loved watching them run away, the thrill was short lived. It was at that moment that Gork, or possibly Mork, must have heard the Boss's thoughts. Gullywog the unstable weirdboy who had gotten the ladz into this mess to begin with began to glow green. This meant only 1 thing. Well, actually it could mean a lot of things. But the strange green glow coupled with the streaking drop pods falling ahead of the Orks could only mean one thing. Some shiny boyz were coming in to meet the boss and his ladz.

With a thunderous crash the bionically enhanced warriors of Clam Vanaheim made landing and quickly set up position from outside their drop pods. Though their numbers were few, they would attempt to blunt the Ork assault long enough for reinforcements to arrive from orbit. As the tactical marines made landing and established an uplink with the fleet in orbit over the planet, the Orks surged forward, led by Blackboota himself to crush the Space Marines.

The posting process is unusually slow today. Check your messages in Notepad or another striaght text editor for special characters like Word's SmartQuotes which insert high ASCII characters into the text which PHP sometimes chokes on. I noticed that posting a few of my first stories, then switched to Notepad to write them which seems to prevent that hiccup.
